Event Tickets
Tickets are $200 per person. Each ticket includes one raffle ticket for a front-row parking spot, valid from April 1, 2023 – March 31, 2024. We will draw a raffle winner on the night of the event. Please note that there are no assigned seats at the event. Ticket sales close on February 1!

Promise Palooza is a fun, inclusive, community fundraising event benefitting our school. We want everyone to be a part of the evening. Bettina Barrow
Bettina Barrow is a film and television producer based in Austin, Texas. Inspired by iconic characters and propulsive stories, Bettina recently founded Banger Pictures, an independent production company focused on both film and television projects that examine female identity through dynamic narrative. Prior to Banger Pictures, Bettina formed Kill Claudio Productions with her producing partner, Lily Rabe, to produce film and television. Her short film “Maude” premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, sold to multiple distributors shortly thereafter, and won a large cash prize from Amazon for its popularity on the platform. Bettina also produced the feature film, "Sister Aimee", directed by Samantha Buck and Marie Schlingmann, which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, screened at the 2019 SXSW Film Festival, and sold to 1091 Media. She has multiple projects in development with Buck and Schlingmann,
including a television series that was developed for HBO and a feature called “Seamonster”. Bettina is currently in post production on "Downtown Owl", a feature film based on the novel by Chuck Klosterman. Rebecca Green is also producing the film and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions is distributing. “Downtown Owl” stars Ed Harris, Lily Rabe, Vanessa Hudgens, Henry Golding, Finn Wittrock, and Jack Dylan Grazer. Bettina is also a Sundance, Film Independent, Rotterdam, Cannes, and TIFF Fellow.
Before becoming an independent producer, Bettina was a lawyer at an international law firm in Los Angeles, specializing in employment and entertainment law. Her background in the creative arts, namely her experience as a professional actress, inspired her to exit the legal world and pursue film production. Bettina is a graduate of Princeton University and the UCLA School of Law.
Jeff Nichols
Jeff Nichols, a feature film writer and director born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, started his career with SHOTGUN STORIES, a southern revenge drama which premiered at the 2007 Berlin International Film Festival. His second feature, TAKE SHELTER, premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, won grand prize at Cannes Critic’s Week, and was nominated for five Independent Spirit Awards. Nichols third film, MUD, starring Matthew McConaughey, premiered in the 2012 Cannes Official Competition, became one of the highest-grossing independent films of 2013, and was awarded the Robert Altman Award at the 2013 Independent Spirit Awards. In 2016, Nichols premiered MIDNIGHT SPECIAL at the Berlin International Film Festival. The same year, he directed the biographical romantic drama LOVING, which also premiered in Official Competition in Cannes in 2016. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for Ruth Negga, two Golden Globes, a WGA award, and two Independent Spirit Awards. Nichols is currently completing post-production on his newest feature film, THE BIKERIDERS, starring Jodie Comer, Austin Butler, and Tom Hardy. Nichols is a graduate of North Carolina School of the Arts’ School of Filmmaking. He currently resides in Austin, Texas.

Jensen Ackles
Ackles can currently be seen in the third season of BIG SKY on ABC, where he takes on the role of Sheriff “Beau Arlen”. Before that, he can be seen in the third season of Amazon’s critically acclaimed show, THE BOYS. Making his debut in the role of “Soldier Boy,” his performance has been recognized as “brilliant” and “the most significant addition to the series." He is also in development on an Untitled DC Project with Greg Berlanti.  
Widely recognized for his award winning role, “Dean Winchester”, in the CW’s international hit, SUPERNATURAL. Ackles played the rugged bad boy who teams up with his younger brother, Sam, portrayed by Jared Padalecki, to find their missing father and battle evil supernatural forces. The series recently ended after fifteen incredible seasons. The longest running prime-time American Sc-Fi show in history. SUPERNATURAL has expanded beyond just a TV series and has developed an expanded universe including a comic book series, anime series, novel series, and spin-off show. THE WINCHESTERS, the prequel spin-off of SUPERNATURAL, currently filming it's first season on The CW. Ackles is Executive producing the series alongside Chaos Machine, his First Look production company he runs with his wife, under Warner Brothers Television. In addition to acting and producing, Ackles has also directed more than a half dozen episodes of Prime Time television for both WarnerBros Studios and CBS studios.
Ackles began his acting career in 1997 as the critically acclaimed “Eric Roman Brady” on DAYS OF OUR LIVES for which he received three Daytime Emmy nominations and won the Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Male Newcomer in 1998.
Along with his wife, Danneel, Jensen is active in raising awareness and funds for various social interests. They partnered with and are on the board of a charity founded by his SUPERNATURAL co-star, Misha Collins, called RandomActs —an organization aiming to change the world by spreading positivity in communities everywhere. The Ackles’ have recently partnered with Random Acts to create a new initiative to revolutionize high school education by bringing laptops into the villages of Nicaragua in the era of COVID-19 and the need for virtual instruction. The Ackles’ also fund a donor-advised fund that directs assistance to other charity organizations based on interest and need.
Lynette Woodard
Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, Lynette Woodard is one of the most decorated female athletes in sports history. Lynette fell in love with basketball at a young age and pursued her dream relentlessly. Her dedication and persistence have allowed her to enjoy a phenomenal basketball career at the scholastic, collegiate, professional, and international levels.
As a student-athlete at Wichita North High School, Lynette led her team to two state basketball titles. Lynette went on to play basketball at the University of Kansas, where she continued to break records and win awards. In 1981, she won the Wade Trophy, awarded to the best basketball player in the nation. Under the tutelage of legendary Hall of Fame Coach Marian E. Washington, Lynette finished her collegiate career as a four-time Kodak All-American, two-time GTE Academic All-American, and the most prolific scorer in the game's history with 3,649 points.
In 1984, Lynette captained the U.S. women's basketball team that won gold in the Olympics. She made history when she became the first female to play for the World-Famous Harlem Globetrotters in 1985. From there, Lynette followed her passion and played basketball overseas for several years. Eventually, she joined the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) in 1997, after the league was founded.
Widely considered one of the greatest female players of all time, Lynette has been inducted into numerous halls of fame, including the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, the National High School Hall of Fame, the Women's Sports Hall of Fame, the Black Legends Professional Hall of Fame, the State of Kansas Hall of Fame, and the African-American Hall of Fame to name a few. In December 2022, Lynette returned to the Harlem Globetrotters as a Special Advisor.

Jerritt Elliott
Elliott played collegiate volleyball at Pepperdine in 1986-88 and at Hawai’i during the 1989-90 season. He earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Cal State Northridge in 1991. His first collegiate level coaching experience as an assistant was with the Cal State Northridge men’s volleyball program in 1993. That season the Matadors advanced to the NCAA Championship match before losing to UCLA. Prior to his appointment as head coach at Texas in April of 2001, Elliott posted two remarkable seasons as the interim head coach at the University of Southern California. He compiled a record of 50-12 while leading the Women of Troy to their first NCAA Semifinals appearance in 15 years and first-ever share of the Pac-10 Conference title. In 2000, USC finished the season ranked No. 4 nationally by both the AVCA and Volleyball Magazine while going 29-3 en route to the NCAA Semifinals. Elliott was honored as Pac-10 Coach of the Year both seasons, as well as being named the 2000 Pacific Region Coach of the Year. Jerritt Elliott was hired at the University of Texas in the spring of 2001 and was charged with returning the Longhorns to national prominence. Prior to this year Jerriit Elliott's record reached the 533-109 mark in 21 years at Texas. The Lady Longhorns have achieved Top 10 rankings the past 16 seasons, 15 trips to the NCAA Regional finals, nine NCAA Semifinal appearances, five NCAA Championship appearances (2009, 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2020). Elliott’s sustained success allowed him to become the program’s winningest head coach. He is now in his 22nd year as Head Volleyball Coach at the University of Texas at Austin. Jerritt Elliott and the Lady Longhorns won the national NCAA volleyball National Champioship in December 2022. This is Jerritt Elliot's second National Championship as the Longhorns' head coach.
Michael Taffe
Michael Taffe is a second year defensive back for the Texas Longhorns and a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll (Fall 2021).
Michael was named first-team All-District 26-6A in 2020 at Westlake High School, and won back-to-back Texas 6A state titles in 2019-20 serving as captain of the team his senior year. He was named Defensive MVP in both title games.
After a successful career at Westlake High School, Michael joined the Longhorns as a walk on in the fall of 2021. Possessing grit and determination, Michael was recently awarded a scholarship in December 2021. Currently serving on the leadership team at Texas, Michael is majoring in sports management.
Jake Majors
Jake is currently a Senior at The University of Texas at Austin where he plays football and is studying Business Entrepreneur Management at the McCombs School of Business. Before college, he attended Prosper High School located in North Dallas where he was a football captain his Junior and Senior Year. He was a 3 time 1st Team All-District Offensive Lineman and Senior year was recognized as a 1st Team All-State Offensive Lineman. Jake went on to start multiple games his Freshman year of college before starting his entire Sophomore and Junior season. He has been apart of the leadership team at Texas since his sophomore year and is currently starting his 1st semester of his Senior year.
Patrick Mullane
Patrick Mullane is the author of The Father, Son, and Holy Shuttle: Growing Up an Astronaut’s Kid in the Glorious 80s. The book tells of Patrick’s life as the son of military aviator and astronaut Mike Mullane who ultimately flew into space three times on the space shuttle. A coming-of-age tale, The Father, Son, and Holy Shuttle is one part comedy, one part history, and one part adventure, but all aspects of the story explore curiosity, family, and community in a unique and entertaining way.
While not writing about space and aviation, Patrick serves as the Executive Director of Harvard Business School’s Online and Executive Education businesses. Prior to that role, he was the CEO of a manufacturing company, an entrepreneur, and an Air Force officer. Patrick has a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame, a master’s degree in Project and Systems Management from Golden Gate University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He lives in the Boston area with his wife, Mary, whom he takes with him on jaunts around New England as a private pilot.
