Twenty-seven Trinity Episcopal School kindergartners and first-graders participated in the annual National Mathematics Pentathlon® March 30 at Sycamore Springs Middle School. The students competed against children from more than a dozen other area schools playing 5 interactive problem-solving games rooted in fundamental mathematics concepts. The tournament is unique in that the students must enforce the rules by issuing challenges against their opponents.
Delane Weber, Lower School Instructional Support Specialist said, “We are so grateful these young mathematicians had the opportunity to represent their school in an academic tournament where they advocated for themselves, exhibited good sportsmanship, and had lots of fun in the process!”
