We emphasize "constructivism," an educational approach which posits that learners construct knowledge based on their experiences. Essentially, constructivism puts the student in the driver's seat by utilizing active learning, student-to-student collaboration, problem-solving, reflection, contextual learning, and other student-centered practices.

A constructivist approach gives students a genuine appreciation for math and a deep-seated confidence in their ability to tackle mathematical challenges. Instead of mere rote learning or drilling basic arithmetic, young learners delve into math through real-world problems, manipulatives, and interactive activities.

Students draw connections between mathematical ideas and their daily lives, ensuring they see math not just as abstract numbers, but as tools to interpret the world around them. Through discussions, group work, and reflective practices, children are guided to articulate their mathematical thinking, understand the rationale behind solutions, and appreciate the beauty of patterns and structures.

At the core of our K-4 literacy curriculum is the Reading and Writing Workshop Model, an approach that champions individualized learning and a genuine love for literature and self-expression.

Within each workshop, students engage in mini-lessons, dive into independent reading or writing tailored to their interests, receive personalized feedback during one-on-one teacher conferences, and participate in group discussions or peer editing sessions. This dynamic structure cultivates proficient readers and confident writers by 4th grade, emphasizing comprehension, critical thinking, and creativity.
