Campus & Facilities

Our main campus sprawls across 22-acres and features a chapel, two indoor gyms, an outdoor gym, a black-box theater, an athletic field, two playgrounds, a community garden, and hiking trails. The 2.5-acre campus of Blue House Preschool connects on the northern side and features its own gym, five playgrounds, a small athletic field, and a garden. A wide variety of spaces and activities help kids stay engaged and curious.

Safety is our top priority.

We have security personnel and systems in place to keep our students safe. Our security measures include full-time guards, vehicular gates, a robust surveillance system, automatic locks and alarms on all buildings, and a sign-in procedure for all visitors. We also administer regular drills with faculty and students for scenarios involving fires, extreme weather, and intruders.

Buildings & Spaces

Jane Hill Chapel

Named for our founder and the focal point of our K–8 campus. Often referred to as simply "The Chapel," Jane Hill Hall hosts daily Chapel services as well as fine arts performances and special events. It's the central hub of our community.

Building G

Completed in the summer of 2023, our newest building provides ample space for athletics, the arts, and administrative offices. It features a gym, a black-box theater, music classrooms, a dance/yoga studio, and a fully equipped board room. It's so new it doesn't even have an official name yet!

Fellowship Hall

Best known for the Dining Hall on the first floor, this building is also home to 5th grade classrooms as well as some administrative offices.

Center for Arts & Athletics

Known as the "original gym," the gymnasium in the Center for Arts & Athletics is also a venue for exceptionally large indoor events like the Christmas Pageant or Grandparents & Special Friends Day. True to its name, this building also includes classrooms for music and visual arts.

Blue House Hall

This was the first building we ever built at our current location! The name is a nod back to our humble beginnings with a dozen students in the original blue house. It's the home of grades K–2 and the Lower School Library. An interesting feature of this building is that a large part of the roof is covered with solar panels.

Unity Hall

This multipurpose space is home to the front desk, administrative offices, world language classrooms, and the headquarters for grades 3–4. It also features large common areas on the first and second stories.

Legacy Hall

Grades 6–8 have most of their classes here. Other areas include the Middle School Library, (known as the CLC – Center of Learning and Collaboration), science labs, and administrative offices.

Garden

Outdoor learning is a big part of student life. We even have a full-time Coordinator of Environmental Education. This working garden offers lots of learning opportunities, provides produce for school lunches, and, in turn, composts the food waste from the Dining Hall — almost 400 pounds each month!

Playgrounds

Physical activity is so important for young learners! We have two playgrounds on our K–8 campus and three at Blue House Preschool. We place activity breaks strategically in the schedule to optimize learning for each age group.

Athletic Field

We offer team sports as early as 1st grade, and our Middle School athletics program has the highest student participation of any middle school in the area, thanks to our no-cut policy. We place students on teams based on age and skill level, so there's a place for everyone.

Location

Our 24-acre campus is five miles from downtown Austin in a quiet alcove of West Lake Hills. The proximity to MoPac Expressway and 360 Loop makes our campus easily accessible from anywhere in the city, while our recessed entrance and robust security team make us a safe place for children to learn and play.
