Trinity's Parent Council Hosts First General Meeting of 2021-2022
Jennifer Morgan addressing Trinity parents at the first Parent Council meeting of this school year.
Parent Council President Katy Dennison welcomed more than 50 Trinity parents to the first general meeting of the 2021-2022 school year on October 5. Parents enjoyed coffee and conversation with each other and listened as Head of School Jennifer Morgan spoke about Trinity's key initiatives for the 2021-2022 school year, including Trinity's new Strategic Plan, which will be published in early 2022.
"The rate of change in education has greatly accelerated due to the pandemic," said Morgan. "As the educational landscape in the world changes, the timing of Trinity’s strategic planning process could not be better. Fine tuning our initiatives and determining concrete steps to reach goals fulfills our ongoing commitment to staying on the leading edge of continuous improvement."
Another key point Jennifer discussed was Trinity's theme for the 2021-2022 school year, "The Power of Purposeful Connection." She explained that she has challenged each faculty and staff member to incorporate this theme into everything they do on campus — whether it be interacting with students or planning lessons.
Following a year strangely apart, it is more important than ever that we reconnect. All of us do better at school, and in the world, when we know someone has faith in us or we have a meaningful connection with another person. We know, without doubt, how important it is for us to be and build connections this year.

Chief Development Officer Kristi Katz also spoke at the meeting about how philanthropy impacts Trinity, specifically this year's capital campaign, The Trinity Promise. In her words, this campaign is "for the students, for the teachers." She emphasized how, in order to provide the well-rounded, top-tier education we do, our school needs support to continue expanding our programs and facilities. And a lot of that support comes in the form of philanthropy.
Other forms of support include parent volunteers. Trinity's Parent Council is a volunteer group that supports our school and our core values through programs, activities and events. The group is for parents, by parents, and it exists to further the school's mission to nurture each child academically, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Every Trinity parent is a member, and we encourage all to get involved in any way they can. Whether you have a lot of time to share or just a little, we hope you will take the time to engage with the parent community at Trinity. The council meets every other month, and all current Trinity parents are welcome. Volunteers are needed throughout the year to help with ongoing programs as well as one-off events.
Some of the committees our parents can join include Book Festival; Faculty & Staff Appreciation; Spirit Store; and a Trinity favorite, Tornado Dads. Each committee brings something special to our school and allows parents to be involved in each part their child's Trinity journey.
