Part-time Dance Instructor
Trinity Episcopal School seeks temporary part-time Dance Instructor for our Middle School 5-6 grade students.
Trinity Episcopal School is an inclusive, forward-thinking, faith-based PK-8 independent school that meets each student where they are to nurture the whole child’s academic, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual growth. Trinity is located in West Lake Hills, close to downtown Austin, Texas.
Throughout the course, students will learn, explore, and perform a range of dance styles from among the following: Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, World Dance, and Hip/Hop. These genres will be taught within a framework of skills and composition building as well as in a historical and cultural context. Students will learn, reflect on, and discuss the connection dance has to their lives and other cultures. They will participate in a daily dance warm-up and study the nutritional elements and their effects on short and long-term physical performance. A range of dance practices that promote fitness, stress management, emotional wellness, and prevention and treatment of dance injuries will be introduced. The course will provide baseline dance content, knowledge, and skills that allow the student to follow additional advanced dance coursework.
This is a temporary, part-time stipend position. The dance instructor will report to the Athletic Director.
The position begins on December 5, 2022 and runs through the end of the school year - May 24, 2023. Classes will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 2 – 2:50 p.m.
- Strong work ethic and excellent character
- Ability to be an innovative, flexible, collaborative, and positive member of a faculty
- Prior dance instructor experience preferred
- First Aid, CPR/AED Certification preferred
- Strong commitment to academic and athletic success of all student-athletes
- Good communication skills are required
