A Night to Shine 2017 Raises Over $500K
Our courtyard—normally empty and quiet on a Saturday evening—bustled with activity, but students were not the cause of the commotion. Instead, the quad was brimming with donors who had gathered for Trinity Episcopal School’s annual gala, A Night to Shine.
Every spring, Trinity hosts this event to garner support for financial assistance programs, faculty professional development and campus enhancements.
This year’s event raised the most ever in the history of A Night to Shine, with more than $475,000 given for faculty professional development and financial assistance, and $42,000 given for The Natural Classroom initiative.
Despite unseasonably cold weather, the mood inside the gymnasium was warm and festive. The theme was “Havana Nueva: Where Yesterday Meets Tomorrow,” and the gym was decorated in the style of Tropicana Club, a famous and historic nightclub in Havana, Cuba. The evening featured Cuban cocktails, Latin cuisine, live and silent auctions, Mambo dancers, stilt walkers, aerialists, and a live band.
A Night to Shine 2017 was led by event chairs Katherine Jones, Carrie Hicks, and Morgan Burnham along with the support of parent volunteers and Trinity staff.
